At the end of this chapter, we have arrived at an architecture similar to the following diagram. The diagram depicts a basic WebRTC-to-IMS architecture.
The diagram depicts the WebRTC client in the Transport Layer as it is the user endpoint. The IMS entities (CSCF and HSS), WebRTC to IMS gateway, and Media Server nodes are placed on the Network Control Layer as they help in signal and media routing. The applications for call control are placed in the top-most Application Layer that processes the call control logic. This architecture serves to provide a basic IMS-based setup for SIP-based WebRTC client interaction.
