Summary


This has been a really technical chapter and a very important one on the road to QlikView mastery.

We reviewed some very important concepts that we need to know before we can take on advanced expressions. We had an in-depth look at searching in QlikView, we reviewed bookmarks, we looked at how we use variables, and then discussed how we limit calculations.

Building on these basics, we delved into Dollar-sign Expansion. This feature is used in so many areas, especially Set Analysis, that we really need to have a good grasp of its use.

The Using advanced Set Analysis section showed how we can make use of one of QlikView's most powerful features. This is a feature that most QlikView developers will use in most applications.

Finally, we looked at the area of calculating vertically and discussed important functions such as the inter-record functions, the Total qualifier, and last but very much not least, the Aggr function. We now know that the Aggr function is extremely useful, but we don...
