Although Drupal can be quite flashy for the end user, as evidenced by how quickly it is being adopted by corporate sites, it is certainly lacking for the administrators and editors. Even trying to decide one from among the dozens of contending multimedia modules to install for a particular need is difficult enough. Trying to navigate the slush of administration pages and often poor or non-existent documentation is a nightmare.

This needs to change.

Administration Interface

When modules are first introduced, they are generally to scratch an itch, to create a feature for the end user, often sponsored by a client who has a specific need. As the modules mature, their developers tend to put a little more thought than initially towards making configuration easier. Sometimes this is due to personal experience, or by the inspiration of other modules. Often, it's simply to try to keep support requests in the issue queues down.
