Conferences allow two or more calls to be joined together so that all parties on the call can hear one another. At least one conference room must be configured before this target option is available. To configure a conference room, click on the Conferences link under the Internal Options & Configuration header in the FreePBX navigation menu:
The first section of the Add Conference screen requires a number and description for the conference room that is being created:
The Conference Number is a number that internal endpoints can dial to reach this conference. Like the ring groups, this can be thought of as the extension number of the conference.
The Conference Name is meant to identify the purpose of the conference room. The name is used only when selecting the room as a call target, and is not visible by the caller in any way.
