Time for Action Putting Files where We Want Them


Moving files is a two-stage process. Firstly, we need to select the files we want to move. Then, we need to choose the place to which we want to move them.

Select the files you want to move by clicking on the little box to the left of the file's name:

2. Click on With chosen files... and from the list select Move to another folder (a message appears immediately above your list of files telling you how many files you selected and what to do next).

3. Click on the name of the folder you just created, in my case "Handouts".

4. Press the Move files to here button:

5. You've now moved the files to the right place!

What Just Happened?

Not only do we know how to get a file uploaded onto the system, we also know how to get things arranged so that we can easily find files, and colleagues teaching on our course will know where to look for files, too—and know where they can put files if they need too. Of course, it makes more sense to create the folder first...
