In this chapter you have learned the essentials about third-party Moodle add-ons.

You hopefully got a flavor of the breadth and depth of additional functionality that is available for your VLE. It not only demonstrates the extensibility and popularity of Moodle, but also shows a significant benefit of open-source software and its ability to programmatically enhance a program to a user's requirements.

Another form of extending the reach of Moodle is to network it with other Moodle systems. We will cover this in the following chapter.
