Summary

SQL Developer provides a number of quick and easy-to-use utilities to work with data, whether it's instance data in your tables or metadata that defines your schema. You can create DDL and DML to save and run at a later stage by using a context menu option or by running a step-by-step wizard. The Database Copy and Diff wizards provide additional resources to manage, compare, and update schema data. When working with and maintaining multiple schemas, or doing application development, each of these utilities plays a useful role.

In the next chapter, we'll revisit making database connections. Even though you have been using a connection throughout the book to this point, the options in the next chapter take connections a little further and discuss the alternatives and merits of the different connection types available.
