Summary

You now have an SBS 2008 system on the network with SBS 2003 turned off and either plan to have it removed or reused as another server on the network.

You should retain the SBS 2003 backup as there may be files you need in the future that were somehow missed in the process and it is always better to be safe rather than sorry.

Your users' files should be accessible and the users should appear in the Windows SBS Console against a set of groups that you defined, enabling management of your IT within the business.

The next step is to enable the new services and understand how to securely utilize SBS 2008 for your business.
