Slideshows are common to many web sites. The basic principle of image slideshows is that images of a certain type and size are kept in a folder in the web directory. The underlying code in the web application reads the images and displays them one after another with some animation effects. The animation effects, the duration of displaying each image, and other settings can be controlled through some variables.
In Joomla!, there is one module called Random Images, mod_random_images
. It reads the images of specified types from a specified directory and displays one image at a time. It's very simple! In order to use this module point to Extensions | Module Manager while logged in as an administrator to Joomla!. In the Module Manager screen, click on the module named Random Image. That opens the Module: [Edit] screen for the mod_random_image
