Throughout the book, we have learned how to use Flash objects within Joomla! content. But sometimes, it may be necessary to use Joomla! content in Flash. This chapter showed you how to use Joomla! content in Flash/Flex applications through web services. We have used J-AMFPHP to create web services on the Joomla! web server and consume the data from this web service into a Flex application.
Later in the chapter, we saw a brief introduction on the accessibility issues with Flash and how to address these issues. Although there are several accessibility issues with the use of Flash, these can be addressed if the Flash designers and developers are familiar with these issues. We have also briefly listed the principles of Flash accessibility in this chapter.
In the next chapter, we will be looking into the troubleshooting of applications — both with Joomla! and the components that we have used in this book.
