As you can see, WP e-Commerce has plenty of competitors, but it is competition that drives these products to become better. Though we are fond of WP e-Commerce, we welcome these competitors and congratulate them on their success. We all benefit as a result.
Chapter 10 covered:
YAK (Yet Another Kart)—an odd name for an e-Commerce plugin, but an impressive product, for free.
eShop—another open-source plugin. Very user-friendly and for free.
Shopp—powerful and elegant, yet commercial-only.
WordPress Simple PayPal Shopping Cart—simplicity epitomized. It's short on features, and it's supposed to be that way.
Market Theme—a theme to the extreme, and not an actual plugin. It is commercial only.
No matter which plugin you use to power your new online store, we still have one major issue left to consider: how to bring customers through our virtual doors. In Chapter 11, we will cover marketing your new shop.
