Changing your password


Any user may change their own password at any time. For e-commerce application users, passwords may be changed using the Profile tab located along the top navigation bar:

https://localhost:8443/ecommerce/control/viewprofile

Users of OFBiz backend applications, for example, the Order Entry or Accounting applications, may use the MyPortal application to change passwords.

How to do it...

The following demonstrates use of the MyPortal application to change a password:

  1. 1. Log in to the MyPortal application:

    https://localhost:8443/myportal/control/main

  2. 2. Select the My Profile tab to bring up the My Profile web page.

  3. 3. Under the Create New section of the My Profile web page, click the Edit button next to the User Login label to bring up the Change User Login Password form.

  4. 4. Enter the current password.

  5. 5. Enter a new password. Passwords must be at least five characters in length and not contain any blanks.

  6. 6. Verify the typing of the new password by entering it again.
