Cache maintenance


OFBiz, like most enterprise class software, uses caching techniques to improve system performance by placing often used data in memory (and sometimes on disk) "caches". Since the OFBiz framework is an all-inclusive deployment platform, there are many opportunities to employ caching methodologies. From database access to web page screen construction and teardown, OFBiz implements many independently configurable caching stores. Each cache may be tuned independently of all others using the WebTools "cache maintenance" tool.

From the Cache Maintenance web page, you may view all currently active caches and statistics on a per cache basis. In addition, you may, with one mouse click, clear and reload all active caches as well as expire all stale cache data, and run the Java garbage collector.

For individual caches, you may set limits on the number of cache entries, called "elements", or allow an unlimited number. For caches with a set limit on the number of entries, OFBiz automatically...
