Time for action — basic server settings


Before you can start populating your blog with all the things you want to write, it's necessary to adjust some basic settings for your entire blog site and for your front page weblog:

  1. If you've just finished the last exercise and Roller's Main Menu is still open, select the Server administration link on the right-hand side of the screen (underneath the Actions section). Otherwise, open a web browser, type your blog's URL (http://localhost/roller), and then fill in your Username and Password. In the Welcome to Roller! page, select the Server Admin Page link at the bottom of the screen (under Designate a frontpage weblog ):

  2. The Roller Configuration screen will appear next. At this moment, you only need to fill in several fields in the Site Settings section. Use the example data shown in the following screenshot; just remember to use your own e-mail address, instead of mine!
