Translating transactional e-mails


InChapter 7, you saw how to customize transactional e-mails. This was covered in the sectionCustomizing transactional e-mails. Now, you must translate those e-mails for your international website. If you don't translate the transactional e-mails, then you will be sending order confirmations, shipping notices, and other e-mails to your customers that are not written in their language.

How to do it...

  1. 1. In the admin interface, select System |Transactional Emails.

  2. 2. Select the Add New Template button. The New Email Template page displays:

  1. 3. From the Template drop-down list, select the first e-mail template that you need to translate. For example, you probably do not need to translate the template New admin password.

  2. 4. From the Locale drop-down list, select the language that you are using for your international storefront.
