Time for action—forcing users to use your theme choices


Now, you are going to change the Theme list setting and test to see how the change actually works. This setting will restrict the amount of themes available to any given user. For instance, you may want the teacher role to be able to change themes in a course, but only want a restricted amount of themes to be used. Restricting the number of available themes is useful because some of the themes may not be consistent with the site.

  1. 1. Navigate to the Theme settings page at: Appearance | Themes | Theme settings. The following screenshot displays the Theme settings page.

  2. 2. Now, add the name of the theme that you are using currently in the Theme list text box at the top of the Theme settings page, as seen below. This is case-sensitive if you are using a Linux server.

  3. 3. Press the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page and you should see the confirmation message appear on the page on which you currently are.
