Time for action—changing the background color


  1. 1. Open the mytheme theme's my_style.css file, if not already open.

  2. 2. Look for the body class at the top:

    body, table, td, th, li {
    font-family:comic sans ms,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif;
    font-size:100%;
    color:red;
    }
    
  3. 3. Change it to:

    body, table, td, th, li {
    font-family:comic sans ms,Verdana,Helvetica,sans-serif;
    font-size:100%;
    color:red;
    background-color:grey;
    }

  4. 4. Save your my_style.css file and refresh your browser.

As you can see in the above screenshot from the previous task, the background has changed to the color that we wanted, namely gray, however, the sideblocks haven't. This is because they have their own CSS classes, so we can set these to a different color, if required.
