Configuring a Lookup Record

ADempiere, for the tables where we have too many transactions happening and the volume of data is generally high, can automatically provide a Lookup Record window to filter the data and access the requested data efficiently. This window pops up when you click on the menu item. In this section, we will look at the steps involved in configuring a Lookup Record window.

How to do it...

  1. 1. Log in as System/System with the System Administrator role.

  2. 2. Go to the Table and Column window.

  3. 3. Look up the details of the c_mom table.

  4. 4. Check the High Volume checkbox, as shown in the following screenshot:

  • With this done, the Lookup Record window is configured. It will, by default, prompt the user for the Key and the Name. Further steps are required in case we want to add more fields to the Lookup Record.

  1. 5. Go to the Column tab.
