Overview of this book

Moodle, as a learning management system, is used to provide resources, interactive activities and assessments to students. Activity tracking


Activity tracking in Moodle allows students and teachers to track their use of resources and activities, and this information can be shown to students on the Moodle screen and in a report for teachers. It can also be used as one of the criteria towards determining course completion status.

Activity and completion tracking is a major new feature within Moodle 2.x and there are a range of options available with it. Activity tracking can be set for any resource within the course. It allows students and teachers to easily see which work has been viewed or completed. Each item within the course needs to be set to enable activity tracking so you can choose for some items to be tracked while others are not. For the purpose of this chapter we are only going to set assignments to be tracked, but the instructions are the same for all Moodle resources and activities.
