Basics of Integration Manager


In Chapter 2, Planning: Business Requirements we went over various tools and methods available for importing data into Dynamics GP. Because Integration Manager is included with the initial purchase and is fairly easy to use without any complex coding, many companies choose Integration Manager for their initial data imports.

When Integration Manager is installed, a number of sample imports (also called integrations) are installed as well. It is often easier to start with these rather than create your own imports, or to at least look at these samples if you have questions when setting up your own imports.

Components of an integration

There are four parts to setting up an import in Integration Manager:

  • Integration properties

  • Source(s)

  • Destination

  • Destination Mapping
