Overview of this book

Oracle Hyperion Interactive Reporting is one of the many products in the Oracle Enterprise Performance Management software suite, an industry-leading business intelligence software package. The primary focus of the Interactive Reporting product is to provide strong relational querying and data analysis capabilities. It also provides the capability to disseminate information throughout an enterprise. There is a very steep learning curve for most users of this tool.This book examines the power of the Interactive Reporting Web Client software, focusing on the key features of each section of the product. Query processing


Queries are frequently processed by a user in daily interactions with the software. Multiple options exist to make query processing easy. Query processing is executed by clicking on the Process button in the Standard toolbar or by clicking on the Tools | Process Query | Current menu option. After the query has finished processing, the software will populate the Results section with the data requested in the Query section.

Note

The Status bar will show the number of rows returned from the query in both the Query and Results section after a query has finished processing.

In addition to simple processing, a few other options exist for processing multiple Query sections in a particular order. Using the previous example, the Q_Sales section is duplicated by right-clicking on the Q_Sales name in the Section window and selecting Duplicate Section.
