User and Group Permissions


We will now look at configuring permissions for:

  • Functions

  • Models

  • Hierarchy permissions

Function permissions

The Functions tab on the Edit user page allows us to grant access for a user or group to the five functions, namely:

  • Explorer

  • Version Management

  • Integration Management

  • System Administration

  • User and Group Permissions

Assigning user or group permissions to a function is the most basic permission level in MDS, and is a necessary step; otherwise the user would not be able to access anything in Master Data Manager.

We will now edit the user that we added to the Manage Users page and also the group that we added to the Manage Groups page:

  1. Navigate to the User and Group Permissions page.

  2. On the resulting Manage Users page, click on the user that we added directly to MDS, and click the edit button.

  3. Click on the Functions tab, which will change the display as shown in the following screenshot:
