Locking, unlocking, and committing versions


We covered the different statuses that versions can have in the introduction of this chapter. We will now look at how the different statuses affect the versions.

Notifications

When any version changes status, an e-mail notification will be sent to any users that are Model Administrators, informing them of the change. This can be useful in order to keep administrators up-to-date with developments in the model.

Before we change the status of any version, we will make the necessary configuration changes for the notifications to work. In order to do this:

  1. Ensure that the Database Mail Profile has been setup, as specified in Chapter 3.

  2. Using Master Data Manager, click on the User and Group Permissions function.

  3. If the e-mail address is missing or incorrect for your own user, carry out the following changes:

  4. Click on the row in the grid that represents your user.

  5. Click on the pencil edit icon.

  6. In the tabbed interface, click on the edit icon again.
