Using instant share


We introduced screen sharing in the last chapter as a feature of Sametime Meeting Center. Sametime Advanced allows you to "instantly" share your screen or an application with one of your Sametime contacts. The Instant Share function is only available from the Sametime Connect client or Notes Embedded client.

To start an Instant Share session, open a chat window or click on the name of one of your Sametime Contacts. Click the Instant Share icon and select the portion of your screen you want to share.

For example, if you're only going to share a region or portion of your screen, you would select that option. A window will display indicating that the screen sharing is initializing, and then you will see an orange bordered area that you can adjust to select the region which you'd like to share with your contacts. You can end sharing or add additional users within the Screen Sharing toolbox that will also be displayed.
