This is the first stage in the Q replication layer.
Q replication has three sets of control tables: the Q Capture control tables, the Q Apply control tables, and the Replication Alert Monitor tables. The structure of these tables was discussed in the The DB2 Database Layer—The control tables section of Chapter 3, The DB2 Database Layer.
We can create the Q Capture control tables using the Replication Center or an ASNCLP
command.
To create the Q Capture control tables in database DB2A
with a schema of ASN
and a Queue Manager of QMA
, we need to specify the Restart Queue name (CAPA.RESTARTQ
) and the Administration Queue name (CAPA.ADMINQ
), which are both Local Queues in the QMA
Queue Manager.
We can create the Q Capture control tables using the Replication Center, as shown next:
1. Start the Replication Center.
2. Navigate down the folders to Q Replication | Definitions | Q Capture Servers.
