The ASDK SQL adapter provides an extensive set of flexible and configurable operations covering virtually all needs a developer may encounter. Depending on where particular operation fits within the messaging subsystem of BizTalk Server, the operations are split into two groups—inbound and outbound.
In the inbound scenarios the ASDK SQL adapter being a part of the receive port infrastructure queries data from SQL Server. The data is then submitted to the MessageBox for further processing.
The following inbound operations supported by the adapter and their description are listed in the following table:
Operation |
Description |
---|---|
TypedPolling |
TypedPolling is the most common inbound operation. The schema representing the result set generated by the polling statement is strongly typed, which is very convenient for message transformations using the BizTalk mapper. We will discuss this operation in detail in the Examples section. |
