Editing a standard envelope


The number 10 envelope template (or typical local business envelope) supplied with the ACT! program is generally suitable for most users. However there are several common modifications that you may want to make to the standard template. These modifications often include eliminating the return address if you are using envelopes with the return address pre-printed. Another common modification is changing the font type or size.

Getting ready

Because we are starting by editing a standard template, there isn't any preparation required other than to have an ACT! database open.

How to do it…

  1. 1. From any screen in the ACT! program, click on the Report menu and select Edit Template.

  2. 2. In the Open ACT! Report dialog, click the dropdown where it says ACT! Report Files (*.rep) and select ACT! Envelope Files (*.env).

  3. 3. Double-click on 10.env (you may not have the extension .env showing).

  4. 4. Click the File menu and select Save As. Type 10 Training for the File Name.
