Using Shared Services to provision calculation scripts to a group


In this recipe, we will create a calculation, create a group, create a native user, assign a user to the group, and then provision the filter to the group.

Getting ready

To get started, click on the Start menu and navigate to Programs | Oracle EPM System | Essbase | Essbase Administration Services | Start Administration Services Console. In the Log in menu, enter your Administration Server, Username, Password, and click on the Log in button.

How to do it...

  1. Drill down on the Essbase Server in EAS, expand the Applications node, drill down on the Sample application, and right-click on the Basic database. In the drop-down menu, click on Create and select Calculation Scripts.

  2. In the Calculation Script Editor, enter the following script and click on the Check syntax button to verify that the syntax is correct; a prompt should pop up with the text Syntax check was successful. Click on OK.
