Using db2dart—DB2 database analysis and reporting tool command

This tool inspects structural and architectural correctness of databases and the objects within them. Since this tool reads the data directly from the disk, it is highly recommended to run it after all applications and users are disconnected (it is more desirable to effectively close the database). The main reason for this is that db2dart cannot read committed pages (dirty pages) from memory and the diagnostics will not be accurate.

The granularity of db2dart can be classified in levels, as database , table space, and table. You can also dump and format table data, index data, and mark indexes as invalid to be eligible for rebuild. Also you can get information about table high watermarks and how to lower them.

Getting ready

How to do it...

  1. First, close the NAV database to have consistent data, before you run the db2dart...
