Configuring privacy for devices and users


The privacy feature allows the user to mark a call as private, preventing other users of the shared line to view with whom the user is on a call.

Getting ready

Before we can use the privacy feature, we must first enable it in the system parameters.

To enable the privacy feature, perform the following:

  1. Navigate to the Service Parameters Configuration page (System | Service Parameters).

  2. Specify the appropriate Server.

  3. Under the Service drop-down menu, select Cisco CallManager.

  4. Under the Clusterwide Parameters (Device - Phone) section, select True from the Privacy Setting drop-down menu:

  5. Click on Save.

How to do it...

To configure the privacy feature, perform the following:

  1. Navigate to the device that will be configured for the privacy feature (Device | Phone).

  2. Under Device Information section, select On from the Privacy drop-down:
