Configuring OBIEE for multiple security providers


OBIEE has the capability to utilize multiple security providers to authenticate users. This is useful in organizations that may have multiple LDAP directories, or different ways to authenticate users.

Getting ready

Before starting this recipe, log into the BI Administration tool and create a new subject area based on LDAP_USER_GROUP and USAGE_STATS. Create some basic reports using this information and create a Dashboard called VPD.

OBIEE has the capability to support multiple security providers. Each of these security providers can be used to authenticate individuals. In order to enable this, there are a few settings that have to be changed. Contact your LDAP support personnel and understand how the LDAP has been implemented, and which attributes in the directory contain the username. To start, you will need to log on to the OBIEE Enterprise Manager website.
