Creating a constant feedback and communications loop


In a business intelligence and data warehouse project, there is much information that is lost in an e-mail. A more appropriate mechanism for sharing information is required. Wikis such as XWiki can sometimes be a good solution. The overhead to maintain these should be reviewed and understood, to ensure these solutions are efficient and effective. Corporate portal solutions to share information may just be as appropriate, for example, Microsoft Sharepoint.

Getting ready

Review your project requirements for information sharing. Wiki could be a short-term or long-term solution. The document sharing solutions still do not effectively share information but rather documents.

How to do it...

  1. 1. Download a Wiki at http://www.xwiki.org.

  2. 2. Copy the expanded Tomcat to the following directory in the Middleware Windows Server:

    C:\Apache\apache-tomcat-7.0.6
    
  3. 3. Copy the expanded WAR file to:

    C:\Apache\apache-tomcat-6.0.29\webapps\xwiki
