In this chapter, we've explored two key features within Exchange Server 2010 for providing better collaboration facilities to users in business environments—shared mailboxes and calendar sharing.
Shared mailboxes, although a core feature of Exchange Server in the current and previous release, present a challenge when attempting to connect iOS devices to these resources, primarily due to limitations within the ActiveSync protocol.
We've looked at how Shared Mailboxes are created and access is granted to Outlook and Outlook Web App users, and then explored the methods available to connect iOS devices to the shared mailboxes by making changes to the Active Directory user that represents the shared mailbox. On the iOS device we've looked at how to configure a second ActiveSync account directly on the device, and explored how to use the iPhone Configuration Utility, covered in detail in the previous chapter, to provision multiple ActiveSync profiles at device deployment time.
