The ability for administrators to perform a remote wipe of ActiveSync devices has been available as a feature of Exchange since Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2, through installation of the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool.
In Exchange Server 2007, the functionality to perform a remote wipe was extended to end users. However, in Exchange Server 2010 these features are easy for end users to manage and use, really putting the end user in control when it comes to ensuring that should they lose their iOS device, they can quickly and easily ensure that data on the device won't fall into the wrong hands.
For an end user to access this functionality, the end user logs into Outlook Web App and chooses Options. In the Options page, the user selects Phones from the sidebar.
