Working with the Properties panel


For this first topic, use the encoderDemo_800.cptx file (1).

In the Classic workspace, the Properties panel is situated on the right-hand side of the interface (2). It is one of the most important panels of Captivate and certainly one of the most useful, as shown in the following screenshot:

The Properties panel (2), as shown in the previous screenshot is a dynamic panel. This means that the content of this panel changes depending on the selected object. Let's make a simple experiment with the Properties panel using the following steps:

  1. 1. On the Filmstrip, click on the first slide to make it the active slide.

    The word Slide should be displayed at the very top of the Properties panel. This tells us that the active item is currently the Slide itself. Take some time to inspect the content of the Properties panel, but leave all the options at their current settings.
