In this chapter, we will set up a specific work area to play around with the PAPI. Within the work area, we can test the properties, methods, and events of the PAPI without affecting the functionality of the site.
The work area will reside in the TropicalGreen project that we have created earlier in a dedicated folder named PAPI. Within this folder we will create three web forms:
AccessObjects.aspxwill be used to demonstrate how containers at the root level are accessed through code. From the root, we will navigate to other objects, moving up and down the hierarchy as we do so.Searches.aspxwill be used to show a more targeted and optimized way of retrieving objects from the MCMS repository. Rather than navigating from the root container through all levels to the object, we can jump straight to the object that we wish to retrieve.Placeholders.aspxwill be used to illustrate how placeholder content can be retrieved programmatically.
