Troubleshooting SSRS

SSRS doesn't need much troubleshooting after it is installed. Sometimes, you have to look for and resolve issues. There are two sections that you have to look at: log files and event-error logs.

SSRS logs

SQL Server Reporting Services utilizes a lot of log files that are generated by interaction with Configuration Manager and those native to SSRS. These are the sections that you should know about:

  • SQL Server Report Server log files

  • The Report Server Service trace log

  • The Report Server execution log

  • The Report Server HTTP log

  • Srsrpsetup.log

  • SrsrpMSI

  • Srsrp.log

  • The Windows authentication log
