Web applications of today are almost always built with some kind of web framework. These frameworks exist in vast numbers that seem to rise by the day. No matter which language you favor, there is likely to be a framework out there for you. Determining what or which frameworks are actually suitable for your organization and use cases is, however, not always an easy task.

Choosing a web framework

When it comes to adopting new technologies, many of the decision points are mainly organizational and related to the business. When an organization intends to adopt an application-development framework, it is typically looking to cover the following requirements:

  • Adaptivity and business-related integration possibilities with existing products of interest for the organization (internal and external)

  • The ability to cover current and foreseeable business requirements

  • Address complexities and maximize the developer productivity, which can often be done by having simple but feature-rich frameworks...
