Producing sound effects


This part will be less focused on the Kivy Bird game specifically; it's more of an overview of various tools that can be employed to add sound effects to a game or application.

The biggest problem with sound effects is rarely a technical one. Creating good-quality sound effects is no small task, and software engineers oftentimes aren't skilled musicians or audio engineers. Moreover, most applications are actually usable with no sound, which is why audio can easily be purposefully neglected or just overlooked during development.

Fortunately, there are tools that facilitate producing okay-quality sound effects while possessing zero domain-specific knowledge. A perfect example is Bfxr, a synthesizer specifically aimed at sporadic game development. It is available for free at www.bfxr.net.
