Multiuser Device Management overview


In the early versions of AirWatch, it was only possible to enroll devices with a single user account. This made it challenging with users needing to share devices as it forced administrators to use service accounts or it required an individual to enroll their username and password for everyone else to use. Using a single service account or requiring a user to sign in can create a potential security risk as well as additional administration overhead with shared service accounts. Today, AirWatch has the ability to set up devices to allow multiple users to log in with their directory credentials.

There are multiple options available with multiuser device management. You can configure the enrollment for all users to be fixed, which means that they will all get the same configuration when they log in, or you can configure custom configurations for each of the users for their log in.
