As we reviewed in Chapter 1, Getting Started, AirWatch has set up its deployment based on three different ownership types:
Corporate-dedicated
Corporate-shared
Employee owned
Note
There is also the unassigned ownership type used as a failover assignment in the event a device doesn't get an ownership assigned.
For the most part, you will most likely fall into two of these categories based on whether you are deploying a BYOD or corporate-owned deployment. Most likely, you will have a combination of both deployments and for BYOD, you will assign everything with employee-owned as the privacy given that the devices are someone else's ownership. For corporate-owned, you will most likely use corporate-dedicated for the most part, but there is the option of using corporate-shared as an alternative if there are any use cases for this.
