Traditionally, organizations have managed and deployed applications to their corporate-owned desktops and laptops for several years, which has become an extremely mature process. With the sudden growth of demand for mobile devices in the workforce, the need to better manage and deploy applications has become a reality for organizations. This has been identified by AirWatch, and as part of their EMM suite, AirWatch has provided Mobile Application Management (MAM) as a way to allow enterprises to become much more efficient with its mobile application management and deployment. These capabilities are similar to that of desktop/laptop application deployment and management.
