In the software world, all software either fulfills some or all of the design principles. These principles help eliminate security risks, and support better performance at the time of maintenance. They also reduce the chances of conflict in security policies while integrating with other software or services. Specific design principles directly control the design and implementation of mechanisms for supporting security policies. These principles are built on the ideas of simplicity and restriction.
