Preface

Reviewing your dimension structure

Basically, this process should be carried out together with business process analysis. But here, the concerned department should be more streamlined into the nature of dimension structure. It has been observed that over time, people who are using the system might have realized the flaws of using too many dimensions and they want to upgrade the structure of the system, but since the system dimension structure should not be modified in the middle of transactions, it is hard to do it at some other time. Upgrade is the perfect time to tighten up and streamline dimensions to simplify data entry and improve reporting for your users. It is also recommended that you generate some financial reporting and check whether the change that you are proposing does not affect the reports and key performance indicators.
