Summary

So, we've created five different pivot tables, all of which will be used in our dashboard, which we will continue to work on in the next chapter. We created these pivot tables using a few different methods. Since we used data sources that are included as part of your GP, imagine what you could do with your own data sources (custom views).

Pivot tables are super powerful in displaying data. The more variation of rows and columns that you add, the more powerful they become. For example, adding departments in columns with accounts in rows would make for a completely different report than putting months in columns. Experiment with pivot tables and your data, you just might uncover how to make your company more profitable in a way nobody else has thought of yet, making you a Pivot Table Power Hero!

In the next chapter, we will start to build the look and feel of our dashboard with conditional formatting. This is another key element, and it's a big part of making a dashboard look great....
