Java 9 is a great update and contains excellent opportunities for Java community members who are looking to create even larger programs and applications. Its garbage collection methods are geared towards providing consistent pause times, even at the expense of requiring more computational power. G1GC becomes the default garbage collection method and allows the full use of the capacity of the 64-bit JVMs to use large heap regions.
In the next chapter, you will learn about microbenchmarking and understand how to optimize the code with it. You will also learn about Java Microbenchmark Harness (JMH) and understand how to set up JMH. We will see some practical examples of using JMH in a real project.
