In Siebel CRM projects that support remote end users, administrators must be aware of the synchronization process. After all, there are hundreds or even thousands of local databases that have to be synchronized with the server database on a regular basis.
Siebel CRM offers two approaches to achieve regular synchronization:
Manual synchronization
Siebel TrickleSync
Next, we will discuss both approaches and clarify the administrative steps.
In order to trigger the synchronization process, a mobile end user must establish connectivity to the corporate network and then select the Synchronize Database option from the application's File menu.
The user is then authenticated by the Synchronization Manager component on the remote Siebel server and the Siebel Remote dialog box is displayed, as shown in the following screenshot:
