In the previous chapter, we created a form which has a master and detail blocks. We created objects and became familiar with the user interface and how it is used within e-Business Suite. In this chapter, we are going to add to the form we have already created and also look at extending an Oracle standard form.
In this chapter, we will continue from the recipes we developed in Chapter 2, Oracle Forms. We will be adding some more advanced features to the form. We will learn how to add messages to our forms from the message dictionary.
We will also add a tabbed region to our form. We can use tabs to show related data to the header block, which is common among professional forms. We will look at how we can control menus, both the pop up and the toolbar menus. We will add custom menu items and can capture the event when the menu item is selected.
A common feature in Oracle is the use of flexfields, so we will also add a flexfield and go through the process of registering the database...
