Customizing Help

An auxiliary toolkit that is available to help us deliver better solutions to our customers is the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 Help Toolkit. The Toolkit can be downloaded from PartnerSource. Once installed on our development system, this toolkit allows us to create customized Help for the application customizations that we deliver. We can also download the sources for the standard Help files, both W1 and localized.

Part of the Help Toolkit is the Help Toolkit Help Guide. Once we have downloaded and unzipped the Help Toolkit, we will find it useful to immediately find the file NAV_HelpGuide.chm and double-click on it to see the Help contents. In this Help file are instructions on installing and using the Help Toolkit. Reading through the installation instructions, perhaps even printing them off for handy reference, will make installing the toolkit much easier.
