For those who want to build their own Excel reports without learning even minimal SQL or messing with Excel's connection properties, Microsoft offers an optional Excel Report Builder module as a component of SmartList builder. Excel Report Builder allows users to build and deploy their own Excel reports. A full treatment of Excel Report Builder is beyond what we can cover in this chapter, but we'll hit the highlights, along with a few things that don't normally get covered. First we'll look at building a basic report with Excel Report Builder and then we'll explore some of the special things you can do with it.
